Long time no see.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been busy listening to heavy metal and drawing cupcakes. I am going to start a new blog, that isn't a CODC blog, but just a CO blog, and it's going to rule. Keep an eye out for the new blog link.

David and Jessica Gomez

One of my best friends in the whole world got married a few weeks ago. Meet David and Jessica Gomez. It was one of the most fun weddings I've been too, since literally, a ton of our friends were there. David had me as his best man, which was awesome. I made sure he didn't run off the stage, or faint like you see grooms do on America's Funniest Home Videos. Both of which, he did not do. I'm not sure if this is a proverb, or if I've made it up, but here goes. A married couple should be better people together as one than they ever were apart. As cool as both Jessica and David were as singles, they're definitely more awesome as one. I love you guys!

Warped Tour 2008

So I missed Warped Tour Orlando 2008  for the first time in a while. I really wanted to go this year, but I had to work today. Some of my buddies were in town for it, but I didn't get to see them. That said here are some pieces I did for them... Oh PS - On the ET shark one, I initially designed it with and arm coming out, but the day I was wrapping it up, a guy in Daytona got attacked and I think died, so I got convicted and omitted it. Sometimes leaving out obvious details seems to make the image a little more interesting to me.

Look Familiar?

I think this brings the rip-off tally to at least 3 or 4 major ones. Apparently the pastries rip-off version was done by a shoe company called Pastry, whatever. It's owned by a certain celebrity's children or something. I'm sure you can figure out who it is if you research it a bit...

Johnny Cupcakes

It is official, I am now full time with Johnny Cupcakes! After freelancing for close to 6 years, 2 of which as a full-timer, it is now time to take on a new vision.  Thank you to all of my clients and friends who have helped me get to where I am now, especially my buddy Johnny Earle!

I am still going to keep up a blog of some sort, but may get a new one. I may put up some personal illustration work, but don't be expecting to see any super-secret JC designs, before they're featured or released :) Thanks and look for more blog newsies soon!

Shai Hulud - "Misanthropy Pure"

I'm not sure if I've posted enough about this album (sarcasm), so here is Shai Hulud's new video, for the title track, of their latest album. And for all of my friends that say "how can you listen to that yelling music, you can't understand what they're saying?" I think this video is a response. Dig it!

Johnny's Memorial Day Bash!

So on Sunday, Johnny had about 20+ friends over for some grillin', some bocce ball, some freeze tag, and some good ole' fashion straight chillin'. The always amazing Dave Green was there snapping them shots, check em out! (above) That's me and my great friend Lucas, talking philosophy, "I swear to cod."

Quick lil' update

I've been in Boston for a week now, and it has been awesome! Getting a ton of work finished and meeting a bunch of new friends. I didn't hook up my camera to my comp yet so I just did a quick photo booth shot before Johnny and I headed to the office.
I've got some big news coming up really soon, so keep an eye out my friends!
PS: You should definitely pick up the new Shai Hulud album, "Misanthropy Pure" it just cam out today...
Also, check into the new Mates of State album and the new Bon Iver album. You just might be into em.
Miss everybody, Heart,
Clark

Summer Vans

So I don't get the leather loafer/boat shoe phenomena that has struck the "hipster-prep" demographic in the past year or so, but neither do they. That said, I ain't hating, I dig boat shoes when they work with what you're rockin and aren't boats themselves on your feet. Especially after seeing Vans response to said style, the Zapato Del Barco, the punk rock kid cousin to your standard Sperry deck shoe. Knowing Vans, the cut of the shoe is probably a bit more form fitting than most boat shoes and overall just a chic kick for the summer time! (Five colorways, what!)

It's that time of year

Working on some artwork for a handful of Warped Tour Bands. The lineup this year is sick, and a bunch of my buddies are on it, so go support them if you can!

Also, I updated a bit on my site recently, take a gander if you would like.

OH yeah, shout out to my boy Bob, HomeOffice-Work-Date soon buddy!

She & Him

Already in my top 5 albums of the year, She & Him's "Volume One", is one of the most beautiful, well-written albums that I have heard in quite a while.
She & Him is the sum of the unlikely pairing  Zooey Deschanel (actress: Elf, Winter Passing) and and indie icon M Ward. I won't even give a description of their sound, just give them a listen!
PS - an amazing a cappella rendition of Swing Low Sweet Chariot!
